The barn's original purpose was to store winter fodder for livestock. In 1960 it was christened 'Pabell Lên Powys' (translation - 'Powys Literary Pavilion') when the Powys Eisteddfod was held in a marquee on the adjacent meadow. This cultural event saw the barn used temporarily for poetry and literary competitions.

The surrounding countryside of the Dyfi Valley offers peace and seclusion, with scenic walks and wildlife-viewing potential. It is perfect for those looking for a stress free retreat. Local activities include mountain-biking, walking, fishing and golfing.

Pabell Lên Powys has been awarded a 4 Star Rating by Visit Wales.
